Leaders Royston maintain top spot
The Woods weren’t in action on Boxing Day, when the biggest crowd of the day was at Histon, who met leaders Royston Town. In front of a gate of 293, James Carman gave the Stutes a surprise half-time lead. Ryan Ingrey after 66 minutes and then Scott Bridges four minutes later won it for the Crows.
Kempston Rovers were third after winning 2-1 at Creasey Park against AFC Dunstable, whose Jermaine Hall put them in front just before the break. Danny Watson equalised on the hour-mark and Sam Johnson won it for the Walnut Boys five minutes later. Beaconsfield made it eight successive wins and 17 goals in their last three matches by hammering Kidlington 6-0 at Holloways Park. It was only 1-0 at half-time through Guri Demuria. But just two minutes into the second half Charlie Losasso doubled that and SYCOB added further goals from Aaron Berry after 55 minutes, a Callum Bunting brace on 73 minutes from the spot and 80 minutes, and a second for Demuria two minutes from time.
Aylesbury United won local bragging rights over Aylesbury FC after a 3-0 win at Thame which leaves the Moles third-bottom, albeit twelve points clear of Histon. A crowd of 256 saw goals from Sonny French in the first half and Bruno Lobo Brito and Ryan Kinnane in the second period for the Ducks.
Elsewhere, Bedford Town maintained county supremacy by winning 2-0 at Arlesey Town, taking the lead immediately after the break from a Kenny Orenuga penalty and adding a second from Lee Roache on 63 minutes. And it finished all-square in the derby between Ashford Town and Egham Town in which the visiting Sarnies took a 31st minute lead through Jordan Berry, only for Dan Fleming to level from the spot 18 minutes from time.

Woods share the points with Aylesbury
Northwood shared the points in their final Evo-Stik Southern League fixture of 2016 this evening, when two late goals saw the Division One Central game at Aylesbury end in a 1-1 draw.
The home side took the lead through Jordan Jenkins with just seven minutes left on the clock, and must have thought they had claimed all three points. But then the referee pointed to the spot on 88 minutes, and Luke Heneghan coolly struck home Woods' leveller. The match report is here.

Barton Rovers beaten at the Park
The Woods got back to winning ways this afternoon when they defeated promotion hopefuls Barton Rovers 2-0 in an Evo-Stik Southern League Central Division fixture at Northwood Park.
Having collected just one point collected from the previous three outings, the Woods had an early goal from Louis Bircham ruled out by a dubious offside flag, but they went ahead when Ryan Debattista fired a screamer into the top left hand corner from 20 yards to put Woods ahead on 29 minutes.
And in the 73rd minute a great move involving Louis Bircham and Joakim Ehui is neatly finished by Channing Campbell-Young for Northwood's second, after which the home side defended well, with keeper Montel Joseph in fine form, as they clinched the points; indeed, they had another strike ruled out in the closing stages. The match report and photos are here.

Northwood lose top goalscorer
The Woods have been dealt a huge blow with the news that leading goalscorer Louis Stead has today made the move to fellow Evo-Stik Southern League Central Division side Egham Town, and is expected to be involved in their fixture tonight.
The 25-year-old joined Northwood from Chalfont St Peter in 2015 and has scored 22 goals in 89 appearances for the club and that includes 12 in 27 games this season, mainly from an attacking midfield role. He has scored several of those goals from trademark free-kicks and it will be difficult to replace those talents immediately.

Northwood well beaten at Potters Bar
The Woods crashed to a resounding Evo-Stik Southern League defeat at Potters Bar Town this evening, going down 4-0 in a Central Division fixture has been brought forward from Boxing Day, but all the presents were given to the home side!
Potters Bar went ahead ten minutes before the break, and added three more in a nine-minutes spell just after the hour-mark to romp to a comfortable victory as Northwood shipped four goals for the second time in three days. The match report will be online in due course.
Assistant manager Paul Faulkner, who took charge of the game in the absence of Mark Burgess, stated: "I would like to apologise to the supporters for our performances and the results in our last couple of matches and especially last night as it was not to the standards that we expect. We will need to work hard to get back to the levels that we were achieving not long ago. We now get a nice break before our next fixture on 17th December, so hopefully we will return to the high standards we set ourselves in time for that match."
Saturday's scheduled game at Royston Town is postponed as the divisional leaders are involved in an FA Trophy tie.

Woods are beaten by Kidlington sub
Northwood served up a disappointing performance this afternoon as they slumped to a 2-4 Evo-Stik Southern League Central Division defeat at the hands of Kidlington at Chestnut Avenue.
In the first meeting between the two clubs for 35 years, Woods went ahead on 24 minutes through Myles Stephenson to finish off a good move, but Kidlington's early substitute Lewis Coyle levelled a few minutes later.
Louis Stead put Northwood ahead again just past the hour mark, only for Coyle to equalise within a few minutes. And the visiting number twelve added two more goals - one from the penalty spot - to claim all the points for Kidlington on an afternoon to forget for the Woods. The match report and photos are here.
Woods Under 21s were beaten 2-3 at Godalming Town in a Suburban League fixture.
