The Woods knew that they faced a tough Pitching-In Southern League Division One Central game at The Skyline Roofing Stadium this afternoon when they took on Real Bedford - and so it proved!

Real Bedford have been promoted from Step 6 to Step 4 in the past two seasons after receiving amazing financial backing, and they raced into a three-goal interval lead at Northwood this afternoon.

But the home side kept battling, and pulled a goal back when substitute Aaron Benn was tripped, with Troy Perez-Duah despatching the resultant penalty. The match report and photos are here.

The Woods took the Pitching-In Southern League points this evening when they defeated fellow-strugglers North Leigh 2-0 at The Skyline Roofing Stadium.

Gary Meakin's side took a third minute lead when Samuel Folarin headed home following Cassius Joseph's cross, with the second goal coming on 74 minutes when Nnaemeka Anyanwu fired home.

Northwood had a disappointing Ptching-In Southern League Division One Central fixture this afternoon, when they went down 2-0 away to Enfield, despite creating several first half chances that should have lead to them being in front at the break.

But "home" side Enfield - playing at Hertford Town - were stronger towards the end of the game, when they scored twice to wrap up the points.

Tonight's Pitching-In Southern League fixture at The Skyline Roofing Stadium against Barton Rovers has been postponed as the playing surface is unplayable following the snow and rain downpours earlier today.

The game will now be played on Tuesday 7th January 2025.

A determined, battling performance from the Woods this afternoon saw them gain their first Pitching-In Southern League victory at The Skyline Roofing Stadium this season. It was the second win in three league outings for the new management team, as they gradually turn things around at Northwood.

It was a close-fought encounter, with few chances at either end, though the in-form visitors Stotfold did see the ball strike the woodwork on two occasions. The Woods' winning goal came on 82 minutes when Archie James slotted home from the penalty spot after the impressive Cassius Joseph had been tripped.

Playing on grass for the first time in nearly a month, Northwood came unstuck as they looked to notch back-to-back away wins at play-off seeking Thame United this afternoon. Thame scored after just two minutes and notched a second on 18, to give the Woods a mountain to climb.

The Woods were defeated in their Middlesex Senior Cup quarter-final tie this evening when they went down 0-2 away to Rayners Lane

In the other senior county competition, Northwood have been drawn at home to North Greenford United in the quarter-final of the Middlesex Charity Cup, the date of which is to be confirmed.

Northwood this afternoon played their first game of the new managerial era, with Assistant Manager Wes Daly taking charge in the absence of new boss Gary Meakin.

And a great first half strike from Kelechi Etienne won them the Pitching-In Southern League Division One Central points with a 1-0 victory at Ware.
