Northwood to play in FA Cup extra preliminary round
The Football Association have confirmed that the Woods will play in the Extra Preliminary Round of this season’s Emirates FA Cup, for just the second time ever.
A total of 745 clubs will compete in this year’s competition, and the 91 lowest ranked Step Four clubs last season plus the 32 clubs promoted to that level will take part in the initial round, the Extra Preliminary.
This means that our tie, on Saturday 3rd August, will take place a week before we commence our Southern League Division One Central fixtures. The draw is due to released next Friday, 5th July.

Allied Counties squad have new management staff
Jamie Barry has been appointed Manager of Northwood's Under 18s squad which competes in the Allied Counties Youth League, following the promotion of Ryan Young to a coaching position within the first team.
Mark Smyth is now Assistant Manager, with Mark Fox and Matt Kaye filling coaching roles with the squad.
We wish the new-look management team all the best as they look to build upon a very successfulcampaign last time around!

New boss appoints his management team
After several days of discussions, new Manager Scott Donnelly has announced his management team.
Joining him as Assistant Manager is the vastly experienced defender Ryan Wharton. The 40-year-old lists Hendon, Hillingdon Borough, St. Albans City, Royston Town, Chalfont St Peter and Harefield United amongst his former clubs, and will provide great support to both the manager and on the coaching side of things.
Scott has also appointed the Woods’ successful Allied Counties Under 18s boss Ryan Young to a first team coaching role. The 28-year-old originally joined Northwood from Potters Bar and played his part in the relegation survival in 2021-22. He then hung up his boots to take charge of the Under 18s in 2022 and expand his real love of coaching – and the two-year project came to an end in May with his side winning the League and the Champions Cup.

Scott Donnelly is appointed Northwood manager
The Woods are delighted to announce the appointment of Scott Donnelly as the club’s new first-team manager. Scott takes on his first managerial role after a playing career which started at QPR. He came through the youth setup at Loftus Road and played for England Under 17s before progressing to the first team, where he made 13 appearances.
Scott then played at Wealdstone, Aldershot Town, Swansea City and Wycombe Wanderers, and later turned out for Newport County, Farnborough, Havant & Waterlooville, Margate and Hayes & Yeading United.
