The two sides met for the fifth time this season, and this time it was our opponents who came out on top for the first time but it was very close.

The Woods started well and went on to shade the first half but neither side looked incisive in front of goal and it remained goalless at the interval.

Northwood stepped it up further in the second half with Toci and Clemow going close before the Woods did take the lead on the hour. Toci and Reade combined to send substitute Noah Softleigh-Moore in on goal and he made no mistake for his first for the club.

However, straight from the restart, Uxbridge levelled and Northwood had it all to do again. They tried, missing a couple of good chances while a header was cleared off the line but with just five minutes to go a ball touched the Referee’s foot and he gave a drop-ball centrally outside the box.

He directed that Uxbridge should be allowed to play it uncontested and a home player hit a long-range shot which went through the keeper’s hands to give them the lead!

The Uxbridge keeper then made a fine save in the last minute to keep his side ahead and the three points went to the home side.
