Having been one of the few sides to have held league leaders Bedfont Sports this season – a 3-3 draw earlier in the campaign - hopes were high that this match-up could also be a positive one.

Sadly, with far too many of the youngsters pulling out with injuries following Sunday fixtures (Mondays are never a great day to play for us), it was a pretty makeshift side that lined up for the Woods, and it was always an uphill struggle.

Sports can boast the League’s top scorer in Michael Goddard with 17 this season, but even though he was missing their side still proved far too strong in attack.

It was 3-0 by half-time and the Woods never really got in a chance up front themselves.

The second half soon added to that tally, it was 6-0 within another twenty minutes, but the Woods dug deep to repel further attacks and it was only in the final stages that the last two goals were added, making it an 8-0 final scoreline.
