Northwood Under 18s looked like they were the team to win this game from the start, but the chances didn't materialise into goals. It was 0-0 at half time, with everything to play for.
The second half followed the same pattern and all the possession should have paid off. Hampton countered and an attack in the 75th minute gave their winger Charlie Bulmer a chance to run at the defence. With the player running towards the by-line, Northwood’s naivety stepped in and they gave away a penalty. Bulmer took it himself and put it in the net with a great strike.
The introduction of Jamie Doolan and Jermaine Heron was a lift to the Northwood team and they proceeded to camp out in the Hampton & Richmond half for the rest of the game.
In the 80th minute, Heron ran into the area with a great winding run which eventually ended in him being taken down for a penalty, which Ronnie Blagden stepped up and slotted home.
Northwood had time to have two more chances on goal, through Adam Wais and Michael Elderfield, but they were unable to secure what would have been a deserved winner.
