Oxford started the game quicker than the Woods but it didn't take long before Northwood got their noses in front. It took a superb goal to do it. After some nice footwork between Romaine Walker and Julian Cole ,the ball was played out to Johanen Adjei-Dawkins (AJ,) whose cross was brilliantly volleyed in by Nathan McLeod from 25 yards.
Oxford attacked the Woods and from distance the full-back hit the post. On 20 minutes the Woods went further ahead from the spot after Walker was brought down just inside the box. Romaine stepped up and drove the spot-kick low into the net.
In the second half it was Oxford who got their game going faster, putting Northwood under pressure and on 62 minutes they pulled a goal back. The No.10 got on the end of a good through ball and slotted it past Will Norris.
Two minutes later a Dan Briggs effort was tipped over the bar and from the resultant corner an Oxford defender committed a foul on the edge of the box, and Walker's shot hit the bar and went over.
The Woods midfield worked hard and on two occasions Mark Howell sent his forwards through on goal but both times they were denied by last ditch tackles. The final action saw Julian Cole hit the crossbar again, but Woods finished off a good game with a 2-1 win.
Man of the Match: Mark Howell.
