After a considerable lay-off the Woods put in a workmanlike performance in an evenly contested game to take all three points with a 3-0 win over Reading Town. It wasn’t until the 28th minute that the Woods got their first chance when Tyrone Durrant headed wide from a free kick. But five minutes later a harsh penalty decision for handball went in Woods’ favour and Jake O'Meara stepped up to blast the ball into the top of the net. Reading nearly equalised two minutes from half-time when only a quick thinking from Ross Thompson averted a goal. A minute later Reading’s number nine squandered their best chance by heading over from five yards. Two minutes into the second half Ollie Wright replaced the injured Josh Kelly, and Northwood started to put their game together. Some decisive tackles and runs down the left by Chris Michael opened up Reading ,but it was from the right that the goals came. The second arrived on 60 minutes, when Will Hudson drove home from fully 30 yards after being set up by O'Meara. Ricky Samani came on with a quarter-hour left, and from the edge of the box he drove home another O'Meara cross in the 80th minute to complete the scoring.
