The Under 18s kicked-off their defence of the Premier Division title with a hard-fought 2-1 victory away at newly-promoted Henley Town. In an entertaining game, Henley created the better of the chances in the first period and only good defending plus poor finishing kept the scores level in the early stages. However, continued pressure stretched the Woods defence, and it finally told when a clinical finish saw Henley take the lead on the half-hour. Perhaps this was the wake-up call that Northwood needed, as they responded almost immediately. A sweeping move saw Chris Michael put in Ryan Lee, and the newcomer made no mistake to level the scores. In the second half, the Woods started playing with more confidence, and began create chances of their own, this time with the home defence having to soak up plenty of pressure. However, the important second goal eluded the side, so changes were made in attack with Aiden Lynam being introduced. With just five minutes left on the clock, the breakthrough finally came when a long kick from goalkeeper Kieran Sills was headed on by Will Hudson, and Aiden Lynam raced through to slot home what proved to be the winner.
