Not a bad return for the Woods over the past 24 hours when the three teams between them made it two wins and a draw, conceding only one goal. And that was an offside goal, as well! This goal was against the Allieds, who got a draw against League leaders Hayes & Yeading, the score finishing 1-1. Northwood gave as good as they got in the first half, and took the lead on 31 minutes when Aiden Lynam drove home a free kick from the edge of the box. Unfortunately the referee's assistant didn't keep up with play on 42 minutes, and Josh Andrews, well offside, lobbed the ball in, as the Woods players stopped ,waiting for the decision. Hayes stepped up the pace in the second half, with their very pacy players up front causing problems, but to their credit the Woods lads defended excellently. Will Hudson was bossing midfield and creating attacks for Northwood, and was by far the best player on view. With 15 minutes to go Gez Reilly made a couple of substitutions, and it nearly paid dividends. In the 84th minute Romane Walker charged down a clearance, and the ball broke kindly for Ryan Lee who, with a one-on-one with the keeper, shot narrowly wide. This acted as a wake up call to the visitors, who peppered the Woods' goal in the last five minutes, but two superb goal-line clearances, first from skipper Jamie Tompkins, then by Will Hudson, kept the enemy at bay. Man of the Match: Will Hudson.
