With Harefield United near the bottom of the league table this first leg League Cup tie should have been a game that Northwood would win easily.
But a number of players pulling out on the day meant that Tom Pegrum had to fill in at centre-back, whilst Luke Fox became a makeshift left-back.
The disruption of this seemed to cause a problem for the Woods and this saw them go two down very early to a very determined Harefield team who seem to playing much better football than the league position would suggest. Harry Smart did pull one goal back before half time to make the half-time score 2-1 to The Hares.
The second half started brightly for Northwood, with both Harry Smart and Aaron Ruszel scoring, so the Woods were ahead and probably should have come away with all three points. But Harefield equalised in stoppage-time to make the final score a entertaining 3-3 draw.
