Northwood came away from Berkhamsted with a well-deserved 3-0 victory against a young home team. From the start the Berkhamsted side struggled to cope with the pace of the Northwood midfield, with Charlie Parker in particular causing the home team problems throughout the game.
Early Northwood opportunities were missed by both Josh Lambe and Regan Tobun when both had good opportunities to score.
Berkhamsted had a couple of chances to score themselves but the impressive Dira Ejibe pulled off some outstanding saves to keep the score 0-0 at half time.
On 52 minutes Regan Tobun lifted the ball over the keeper after some good work from Giles Townsend to give Northwood the advantage.
Substitute Harry Smart then made an immediate impact by putting a ball through to Charlie Parker whose shot beat the keeper at his near post to make it 2-0.
The Woods were full of confidence and substitute Redha Zekri was then brought down in the area for a penalty. The same player took responsibility for the spot-kick himself but, though it was easily saved by the keeper, he only parried the ball into the path of Josh Lambe who followed up well to make it 3-0.
Berkhamsted were then awarded a penalty themselves but Northwood keeper Ejibe impressed again, saving well by diving low to his right hand side.
This was another good performance by Northwood which now lifts them to second in the league. Up next is a home game against the leaders Royston Town.
