MATCH REPORTS 1976-77

Saturday 14th August 1976
ONE MAN BLITZ
MARLOW RESERVES 1  NORTHWOOD 7

Northwood's manager Paddy Coburn secured the signature of Paul (Junior) Jones in midweek and on Saturday he proved what a fine capture he is going to be.

He was the outstanding star of another impressive Northwood performance that saw them hammer seven past the young Marlow outfit. Always prepared to take defenders on and have a crack at goal, Jones netted four in his one-man blitz – three with shots from over 25 yards.

Martin Ellis (2) and Dave King completed the rout.

Tommy Evans has re-signed for Northwood FC after a year's absence. Evans, a hard working mid-field player, scored the winning goal against Yeading in the 1974-75 Middlesex League Cup final but then suffered a badly broken leg playing for Wealdstone Social soon after. He missed all of last season but is now fit and ready to carry on where he left off.
