NORTHWOOD IN FINAL
NORTHWOOD 4  BOVINGDON 1

Northwood FC reached the final of the Rickmansworth Charity Cup for the first time with a 4-1 win over Herts League side Bovingdon.

But with the Woods in front 2-1, the game was in danger of being abandoned as Bovingdon fans continually disrupted play. The future of the match was in the balance when a Northwood player was struck as he tried to take a throw-in.

The game was at a tense enough point, with Bovingdon hammering away for an equaliser. Jones’ goal for Northwood made it 3-1 and eased the tension.

A fourth, a deflection from Livingstone sealed it.

Although Bovingdon were first off the mark, Northwood got their 2-1 lead through Heslop and Jones.

Northwood: L. Currell, N. Heslop, J. Harman, A. Merison, B. Gould, R. Tidd, C. Hester, J. Jones, M. Ellis,  C. Curran, R. Livingstone.
