WOODS FOR CHARITY CUP
TUDOR CORINTHIANS 0  NORTHWOOD 2

Northwood moved into the semi-final of the Rickmansworth Charity Cup with a good first round win at Tudor Corinthians of the Herts County League on Boxing Day.

The Woods made some early running, before the home side hit back, but Barry Gould and Norman Heslop kept them at bay. Their midfield worked very hard, covering every blade of grass and running themselves into the ground.

Cooper was in outstanding form for Northwood up front, and he fired home midway through the half to shock the hosts and give Woods the lead.

Tudor came strongly at Northwood in the second half, but were kept out by strong defending. Then in the closing stages, Cooper set up Dibbens to score the clinching goal, and a semi-final tie with Mill End on New Year’s Day for Woods.

Northwood:  Bowden, Hammond, Harman, Gould, Heslop, Tidd, Clifford, O’Leary, Byrne, Dibbens, Cooper.
