Steve had been a much-admired opponent for Brook
House and others over the years when Alan Merison
signed him for the Woods to strengthen the defence
for our second season in the Isthmian League back
in 1993. He made his debut at home to Leighton
Town in the first game of the 1993/94 season and
he played in the club’s first-ever Middlesex
Charity Cup Final at the end of that campaign.
Famous for his rallying “Come on, this is the
Vase” cry, Steve played 102 games for the club but
never managed his his first goal!! He returned to
Brook House but then joined Beaconsfield Sycob,
ending up as their manager for a short spell last
season. Recently was managing Sycob's reserve side in the
Suburban League.
