Defender

Ken Harland

Ken started his senior football career playing for Lancing FC in the Sussex County League in 1965, progressing through the youth and reserve sides to play in the first team until he moved to Pinner, when he joined Northwood. Manager Pat Byrne decided he would be more effective at full-back than midfield or on the wing where he had played, and he became a regular in 1972/73. However, major injuries (broken ankle and cartilage) then badly disrupted his Woods career, before Ken moved to Doncaster. He then retired from football and joined a local athletic club to concentrate on road running.
