Paddy played for one season in the early seventies (top photo), scoring plenty of goals as the team became Middlesex League runners-up. Prior to that he had played at Viking Sports, Hayes and Ruislip Manor.

He returned to Woods in 1975 after injury had ended his career in senior football and became player-manager, taking the club to a new level with a long and successful spell at the helm.

Unfortunately his success with his business took up increasing amounts of his time, and he reluctantly gave up the managerial reins in 1986.
