Billy joined the Woods in 1989/90 as a reserve-team player but was called up to do a man-marking job on future Northwood star Paul Rogan in a crucial away game at Cheshunt. Woods won 1-0, and the following season he won a regular slot in the central midfield, culminating in the London Spartan League and Cup “double in 1992.

He left after this and only re-appeared briefly for a handful of games in 1993.
