Northwood’s first-ever visit to Badshot Lea proved fruitless on Saturday as they succumbed to a second half onslaught from the home side, who ended a run of five league games without a win by cruising to a 4-0 success.
The Woods were able to welcome back Kofi Anokye-Boadi and Harry McCorkell to the starting line-up but were without Harry McKenna, following his dislocated shoulder last weekend and also Adam Laaref who had moved to play-off seeking Southall a day earlier. It meant 
there was a call up for Under 18s striker Alex Grant for the first time.
And it was the Baggies who started well, forcing a series of corners in the opening ten minutes, though the Woods defence looked solid in defence of them. A defensive error did present Tane Caubo with a very early chance but Andrew McCorkell made a good reflex save from close range and the ball was cleared.
At the other end, Anokye-Boadi enjoyed one good run down the right and sent over a testing cross which goalkeeper Harry Cawdron cut out and then just held on under pressure. But after 12 minutes, the Woods went close to taking the lead when Dan Williams raced onto a through ball, took it past Cawdron and then fired a shot which crashed back off the near post.
It was the start of a dominant period by the visiting side as McCorkell fired just wide from 20 yards out and then then good approach play from Teddy Stacey and Anokye-Boadi saw Deago Dunbar-Bonnie burst into the box for a stab at goal but it looped up off Cawdron and was headed away for a corner.
After 26 minutes, Lucas Sinclair did well to hold the ball up in the right corner before finding Stacey who slung it into the box but the needed touch was not there. The Woods continued to press though and from a Luke Tingey throw, McCorkell flicked on a header which flashed and then drifted across goal and wide.

The home side were struggling to create anything at this stage and three minutes before the break, a free-kick from just inside the opposition half saw Harry Gallagher overhit his strike and it had Cawdron back-pedalling before he just managed to get a hand on it to tip the ball over the bar before it dropped in.
Only moments before half-time, Badshot Lea did manage to hit the Woods on a quick break but, having found space for a shot on goal, Lamin Ceesay fired wide.
The home side made a half-time change and it was just two minutes into the second half that the home side grabbed a somewhat flukey but decisive lead as Kane Fitzgerald knocked in a hopeful cross from the left which saw Caubo get the faintest of touches at the near post which was somehow sufficient to divert the ball through the legs of McCorkell and trickle into the net before Stephan Langley could clear.
Northwood looked to get back into the game quickly as Sinclair set up Anokye-Boadi for a good strike that had Cawdron diving low to push wide of the post.
But the Woods were then hit by a sucker punch just about on the hour. From a Northwood throw, fifteen yards into the Baggies half, Dunbar-Bonnie’s ball to Stacey was intercepted by Joshua Keeya, only on as a substitute four minutes earlier, and he rode a challenge from Gallagher, pushed it past Tingey and raced through unopposed before sliding it across for Caubo to notch an easy second.
It was almost a hat-trick for the Badshot Lea striker as he was denied at close-range by McCorkell while the Woods then went close at the other end as Sam Jenkins got his head on a Dunbar-Bonnie chip into the box which looped over Cawdron but came down onto the crossbar and was cleared.
From here, the Woods lost their way. Former Wood Baback Deghani was denied by another McCorkell save but after 78 minutes Ceesay cut in from the left to fire in a third.
The introduction of teenagers Archie James and Grant was unable to freshen up the Northwood side and the game ended in the fourth minute of stoppage-time when substitute Kareem Akinnibi headed home unchallenged from a well-flighted Keeya corner.
