Warren was 20 when he got a run-out for the first team in our
1992 title-chasing side; he ended up playing
sixteen league matches for the club and scored
sixteen goals, including all five in a 5-0
demolition of North Greenford United, who had
current Woods’ Chairman Ian Barry in goal!!
At the end of the
season, Warren moved to Cambridge United and
had spells at Millwalla nD Northampton
before eventually settling back into the top level
of non-League football at Yeovil Town (scoring 109 goals in 225 games), Rushden &
Diamonds and Woking. He also gained nine England
semi-pro international caps. He finished his
career with a handful of games back at Northwood
in 2004, scoring one more goal for "old-times'
sake" at Leyton.
He managed Morchard Bishop in the Devon & Exeter League for two seasons, then had a spell at Western League Wellington, before taking charge at Witheridge and then Crediton. DOB: 14.8.71.
