FADING HOPES
NORTHWOOD 1  ROUNDWOOD 2

Northwood's hopes of winning the Harrow and Wembley Premier Division faded slightly with a 2-1 home defeat by leaders Roundwood on Thursday, but they must play Roundwood twice more and victories would give them the title.

A defensive slip by Dibbens allowed Roundwood to score with their one real chance of the first half, but Northwood countered and searched hard for an equaliser.

Against the run of play, Roundwood scored again 10 minutes into the second half, but the home side came back to score through Gould 10 minutes from time.

Roundwood survived great pressure in the final minute when Dodd, Horsford and Millward all went close and Byrne headed onto the bar.
