NORTHWOOD WIN AGAIN
NORTHWOOD 3  NORTH HARROW 2

Northwood took their Harrow, Wembley & District League record to a maximum 10 points from five games when Byrne completed a hat-trick in the dying seconds to give them a 3-2 win against North harrow at Northwood Recreation Ground.

Hopes of an easy Northwood victory against their lowly opposition were quickly dispelled when North harrow survived early pressure and held the home team even, 0-0 at half-time.

Northwood were playing attractive football but breaking down at the final stage, high-scoring inside0man Byrne and Godley being the main culprits.

North Harrow had their chances too, and only a goal-line clearance by Brownlow prevented them from taking the lead.

Fifteen minutes after half-time Byrne made amends for previous misses, rounding two men before opening the scoring.

North Harrow fought back and scored twice to take the lead. But Byrne found his way through a packed defence to equalise with three minutes left, and then came the late winner from Jackman’s cross.

Northwood: R. Byrne, D. Byrne, Brownlow, Harding, Kaufman, Jackman, Rogers,  Godley, D.P. Byrne, Ball, Gregory.
