REVENGE FOR NORTHWOOD

Northwood gained revenge for a Charity Cup defeat earlier in the season when they beat Alveston 5-0 away in the Harrow Wembley & District League Cup on Saturday.
Alveston did not exploit the wind advantage in the first half, Northwood creating the clearer chances. Northwood’s defence must take credit for holding out in a goal-less first half.
Northwood did not waste time in taking advantage after the interval. Their goals were scored by Paul Byrne (2), Dennis Godley, Billy Coombes and Bill Rogers.
